Farmers Cooperation
Drought and unpredictable weather patterns can severely impact crop health and reduce yields, highlighting the need for a stronger support system for farmers. The objective of Stage Three is to enhance the effectiveness of the project by establishing a cooperative for farmers and strengthening the vegetable cultivation value chain. This cooperative will monitor and ensure the quality of vegetables produced by its member farmers.
HortiTerra will take on the responsibility of marketing and distributing these vegetables, enabling farmers to enjoy higher and more stable incomes. Additionally, the cooperative will promote the adoption of greenhouse farming techniques. To assist aspiring greenhouse farmers, the cooperative will connect them with financial institutions and provide essential horticultural knowledge.
Improving infrastructure and developing a reputable brand will further benefit the farmers. Core values such as support and oversight for farmers will be fundamental during this stage. As a social enterprise, HortiTerra is committed to fostering the development of the local community.
